1 dead, 3 injured in accident in Cincinnati in which the vehicle was thrown into a building

WESTWOOD, Ohio (WKRC) – One person was killed in a car accident Friday morning in Westwood.

Officers responded to a traffic accident with fatal injuries around 9:35 a.m. Friday morning

According to police, a 17-year-old man driving a 2016 Ford Focus ignored a red light and crashed into a 2016 Toyota Camry driven by a 46-year-old man. After the impact, the Camry continued to slide until it hit a building.

The 17-year-old driver, his 17-year-old passenger and the 46-year-old driver were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An 85-year-old man was sitting in the back seat of the Toyota Camry and was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Excessive speed is being investigated as a cause of the accident, and authorities determined that none of the men in the Ford Focus were wearing a seatbelt, but the driver of the Toyota Camry was. It could not be determined whether the Camry passenger was wearing a seatbelt or not.

Police have not released the identities of the people involved.
