Skylar Thompson deserves another start for the Dolphins

MIAMI GARDENS – I think Skylar Thompson, if healthy enough, should get another start at quarterback for the Dolphins.

I know that's not a popular opinion right now.

Listen to me and think about it.

Skylar will not start Monday night against Tennessee.

Looking at training on Thursday and Friday, it looks like his injured ribs are not allowing him enough movement.

Either Tim Boyle or Tyler “Snoop” Huntley will start at quarterback for the Dolphins.

I think it should be Boyle.

Boyle has been here longer (signed on August 29th) and knows the offense better than Snoop, who was signed on September 21st.

But if Skylar is medically cleared, I think he should start.

He is the best suited for the job.

For me it's a question of history vs. actuality.

I'm following the story.

I'm not willing to give up more than two years of training and investment based on three bad quarters of a road game in Seattle where no one played well.

The Dolphins — coach Mike McDaniel, general manager Chris Grier, offensive coordinator Frank Smith, quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell — have seen Thompson since Day One. They drafted him. They had him face White in a training camp.

Skylar won.

I agreed with this decision. I still do that.
