Suspect arrested three times in three days for reported auto theft and vehicle theft in Spokane | Spokane News

SPOKANE, Wash. – A suspect has been arrested in Spokane following a crime spree that targeted a local business. This was his third arrest in just three days.

According to Spokane police, the first arrest occurred on Sept. 23 when 50-year-old Larry Griffin allegedly stole a car from a store near 6600 North Division. Employees recovered the vehicle and police arrested Griffin after an investigation. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail but released the next day.

At about 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 25, police said they returned to the same store after receiving reports of roaming vehicles. They found Griffin in a car in the parking lot and discovered that several other vehicles had been broken into. He was arrested on three counts of vehicle theft and taken back to prison.

The next day, September 26, police said employees reported another stolen vehicle at the same location. They found the car nearby and discovered that Griffin had returned and apologized for taking both the truck and the earlier car. After gathering information, police arrested Griffin for theft of a motor vehicle. Once in the area, he became uncooperative and yelled at officers.

Griffin was taken into custody without incident and returned to the Spokane County Jail for the third time this week. Police said he has a significant criminal history, including convictions for second-degree robbery.
