Orville Peck hints at Broadway ambitions

Masked country star Orville Peck hinted that he may have a Broadway project coming his way – something that has “become interesting” recently, although it's clearly still in its early stages.

During “a performance Tuesday night at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles,” the “Dead of Night” singer was asked if he might have ambitions for the Great White Way.[d]“During the conversation moderated by Rolling Stone writer Tomás Mier,” Variety reported.

The question is not far-fetched. “Peck trained as a ballet dancer while growing up in South Africa,” recalls Variety. “Before starting a music career as a drummer in punk rock bands, he studied acting in London.”

Peck also has stage experience. “He appeared in a West End production of 'Peter Pan Goes Wrong' at the Apollo Theater in 2016,” Variety said, “as well as national musical tours.”

As for appearing on Broadway, “That's been on my mind,” the Masked Singer said in response to the question. “Things have gotten interesting lately.”

According to a “source,” Variety added, “the project is in 'very early stages of development.'
