Former detention officer arrested and charged with sexual assault

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirms the arrest of former Montgomery County Detention Officer Eliazar Vasquez following an investigation by detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit. Vasquez was charged with sexual assault, a second-degree felony.

The criminal and internal investigations are ongoing and will be referred to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office when completed. Vasquez, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, was taken into custody by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $50,000 bail. Vasquez was terminated from his employment with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
