Crews battle fire at popular dessert shop in southeast Indiana

First responders were on the scene of a large fire at a popular dessert shop in southeast Indiana on Friday evening. The fire occurred at Mr. Fudge's Confectionary in Metamora Township. The Metamora, Brookville and Laurel fire departments were among the fire departments that responded to the scene to extinguish the flames. It is currently unknown how extensive the damage was caused by the fire. Rescue workers remained on site for hours. A staple in the Metamora community since 1975, Mr. Fudge's Confectionary is one of Franklin County's most popular spots for fudge, sundaes and other desserts.
