Cibolo substitute teacher arrested for child injury

CIBOLO, TX – Cibolo police arrested a substitute teacher, Yorllin Hernandez, on two charges of injury to a child.

The arrest followed an investigation into an incident involving two students at Jordan Intermediate School.

Hernandez was assigned to the school through ESS, a third-party recruiting company. There were reportedly physical altercations between Hernandez and two students they were mentoring. The school administration immediately notified authorities and the Cibolo Police Department was called in.

Through testimony and evidence, it was determined that Hernandez assaulted two students during her time as a substitute teacher. The students' injuries were not life-threatening.

On Sept. 27, Hernandez was taken into custody and faces two counts of child injury. You have been fired from your position as substitute teachers and school management is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
