Albuquerque police are linking two men to a 2018 murder

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have arrested two men for a murder that occurred more than six years ago.

In March 2018, officers were called to an area near Coors north of I-40 after witnesses said they heard two gunshots and a car with Mexican license plates leaving the area.

Police believe Kevin Geier and Toure Britt shot and killed a man after acting as a backup with another friend who wanted to confront a man about going out with his girlfriend. However, police claimed the two planned to rob and kill the man instead.

Rio Rancho police found the car several days later after it was reported to be on fire.

Britt was arrested in Albuquerque, but Geier has been in custody in Arizona since December 2018 on gun and drug charges. Both men are charged with first-degree murder.
