Detroit twins arrested for alleged numerous thefts after “several months of investigation.”

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich – Two men have been arrested in connection with numerous thefts of landscape equipment in the Detroit area.

Police said the suspects had been targeting landscapers cutting grass in the community since May 2024.

The suspects waited until the workers were out of sight and then allegedly stole as much lawn equipment as they could from the lawn trucks and trailers. Police said the suspects would also steal the entire landscape truck and trailer if the keys were left in the vehicle.

Leon Lindsey and Levi Lindsey, 25-year-old twin brothers from Detroit, were indicted and charged on Sept. 23.

After her arrest, police executed a search warrant at her Detroit home and found about 50 pieces of allegedly stolen legal equipment. Investigators are working to identify the owner of the allegedly stolen items.

The complaint, approved by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, charged 23 felonies, including conducting a criminal enterprise – a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Leon was given a $150,000 bond. Levi was given a $100,000 bond. Their preliminary exams are scheduled for October 9, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in Harper Woods District Court 32-A.
