TEHRAN – Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday called on all Muslims to mobilize their resources and facilities and stand with the Lebanese people and Hezbollah in the fight against Israel.

He made the comments in a message posted on his website, responding to recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon that killed both Hezbollah fighters and civilians.

Khamenei stressed that all resistance forces in the West Asia region stood with and supported Hezbollah, noting that the killing of the “defenseless” people of Lebanon had once again exposed Israel's “cruelty.”

He added that Israel could not cause significant damage to Hezbollah's strong structure.

Khamenei noted Hezbollah's success in driving Israel out of Lebanon in the past and expressed hope that the group would make Israel regret again.

Israel began massive airstrikes on Lebanon on Monday, marking the most significant Israeli military action in the country since 2006.

Israeli forces claimed Saturday that they had killed Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday. Nasrallah's death was also confirmed by Hezbollah.
