Bus crash on I-10 blocks part of freeway in Phoenix

According to DPS, there were 30 to 35 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident.

PHOENIX – According to initial reports from the Department of Public Safety, large portions of eastbound Interstate 10 are blocked near 7th Street in Phoenix after a bus crashed on the highway Saturday morning.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown, but traffic police said there were 30 to 35 people on board the bus. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The traffic police were able to confirm that people were injured in the accident. The Phoenix Fire Department is currently working to fully assess the extent of her injuries.

Fire Capt. Shaun DuBois said most of the injuries were minor, but one adult was taken to the hospital in “extremely critical condition.”

The HOV lane and the first and second lanes are currently closed. There is no estimated reopening time.
