After the exciting 0-0 draw against Napoli, coached by the former coach Antonio Conte Last weekend, Juventus drew their last three league games with the same result, somewhat dulling the shine of an excellent start to the season.

This started after two consecutive 3-0 wins Thiago Motta In that era of style, Juve have since been frustrated in Serie A – despite beating their opening Champions League opponents PSV Eindhoven 3-1.

The Bianconeri could now keep a clean sheet in all of their first six Serie A games for the first time so far and potentially draw four goalless games in a row for the only time in their long history in the top flight.

With two points behind top duo AC Milan and city rivals Turin, Juve will not only be interested in keeping the back door closed, but also in finding their goalscoring form again – especially as a weakened striker Dusan Vlahovicwho only had six touches of the ball before being substituted last week.

Juventus ranks in the bottom half of Serie A in both total shots and shots on goal and is only 17th in touches on the ball in the opposition area.

Motta now returns to his old club – where he was once a player and then a coach – and is aiming for improvement after Genoa and Juventus drew both of their meetings last season and scored just two goals in total.

The clubs' last nine league games at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris have seen four wins for each team and a single draw, while Genoa are currently unbeaten in three games against Juventus, having previously lost five in a row.

However, Alberto GilardinoThe Italian team will welcome the Bianconeri to Liguria after several setbacks that have certainly weakened the club's confidence.

Last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at newly promoted Venezia left them 17th in Serie A with five points from as many games before falling to their bitterest rivals in midweek.

Despite an early lead Andrea PinamontiGenoa suffered a painful Coppa Italia defeat to Sampdoria on Wednesday night after conceding a late equalizer and then being eliminated from the cup on penalties.

After being beaten by Samp in this season's only Derby della Lanterna and missing a meeting with Roma in the round of 16, the Grifone will have to try to avoid more suffering when Juve arrive in Marassi this weekend.

Juventus will make major changes to their defense this weekend Nicolo Savona And Andrea Cambiaso Both leave the team, which was surprisingly named by Thiago Motta a day earlier. Jonas Rouhi is expected to make his first start at left-back, with Danilo is introduced on the right.

Another key component in Juve's defensive department, Bremer will lead the Bianconeri's back four, having previously scored twice against Genoa – including his first Serie A goal in November 2019. In the last six seasons, no defender has scored more headed goals in Europe's top five leagues (13).

Despite being the club's top scorer in 2024, Dusan Vlahovic has only scored in one of his last 10 league games: a brace against Hellas Verona last month.

However, the Serbian striker will continue to play up front Arkadiusz Milik still out due to injury; Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao has returned to team training and could be on the bench again.

Meanwhile, Genoa have not relied on a single goalscorer, with each of their last 12 Serie A goals registered by a dozen different players – most recently the former Juventus defender Koni De Winter in the 1-1 draw against Roma.

Midfielder owned by Juventus Fabio Miretti has recently gotten fit again and could be there at the weekend, but Junior Messiah And Ruslan Malinovskyi – the latter suffered a season-ending injury last week – are both taken to the treatment room.

As Caleb Ekuban is struggling with a muscle problem, Vitinha and Andrea Pinamonti should be represented in the hosts' attack.

Genoa possible starting lineup:
Gollini; De Winter, Bani, Vasquez; Sabelli, Thorsby, Badelj, Frendrup, Martin; Vitinha, Pinamonti

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Perin; Danilo, Kalulu, Bremer, Rouhi; Fagioli, McKennie; Gonzalez, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic

We say: Genoa – Juventus 0:1

Neither team is productive, so this clash between two up-and-coming coaches could be a tactical affair decided by just one goal.

Given the abundance of their resources after a summer of spending, Juventus should finally end their Serie A drought and hand Genoa a third straight defeat.
