Maysville Mayor Presley Arrested After Previous Battery Incident | News

After the meeting, the man was standing outside talking to other residents when Presley came outside. According to the accuser, Presley immediately walked up to him and struck him three times in the chest with his open hand. The man said Presley also yelled at him not to embarrass his family.

The man said he didn't get involved with Presley and waited for then-Maysville Police Chief Joshua White to separate them.

The man was able to press charges against Presley after a hearing in district court on Tuesday. The man said he has had difficulty filing charges against Presley over the past seven months for a variety of reasons, including where charges should be filed (Banks County or Jackson County) and previous conflicts of interest with the Maysville Police Department.

Banks County Judge Ivan Mote signed an arrest warrant for Presley on Tuesday after the hearing.
