Incident at Grundy County Corn Festival: Attendee arrested with loaded gun, knife and brass knuckles

Morris, IL – A 21-year-old Minooka man was arrested following an incident at the Grundy County Corn Festival late Thursday night. Morris police have charged Anthony Zaragoza with aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to Morris police, Zaragoza was brandishing a knife in a threatening manner in the 100 block of West Washington Street. When he was arrested, officers found a loaded firearm and brass knuckles on him. He was immediately transported to the Grundy County Jail where he was held pending further action.

Zaragoza appeared in court on Friday and was held without bail. The case continues to be reviewed for possible additional costs.

The arrest occurred at 9:44 p.m. during the popular Corn Festival, which draws large crowds to the area. Morris police have reported no injuries from the incident but remain on heightened alert during the festival. Further updates on the case are expected as the investigation continues.
