Turkish authorities arrest five suspects for the murder of a 15-year-old Syrian child

A court in Istanbul arrested five suspects on September 27 for the murder of a 15-year-old Syrian refugee child.

On September 21, two people shot and killed a 15-year-old Syrian child with the initials AD in a park in Istanbul's Gaziosmanpaşa district.

The child died the same day in a hospital during treatment.

In a statement on September 24, Istanbul police said they had arrested five people, adding that the suspects “had argued with the deceased in the past and that the incident was probably motivated by revenge.” Police also seized two unlicensed pistols and a motorcycle.

An Istanbul court arrested the suspect KCÖ. (18), FCU (18), Ö.CU (20), RK (23) and MT (18) for “intentional homicide”.
