Brendan Allen tears up UFC rankings: 'I'm the only one on a winning streak who's falling down the rankings'

Screw these rankings!

Brendan Allen returns in a major co-main event bout for the middleweight division this weekend (Sat., Sept. 28, 2024) at UFC Paris Nassourdine Imavovwhich takes place at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.

Allen is currently on a seven-fight win streak with five submission finishes and is looking to secure the 185-pound crown. Surprisingly, though, he's only ranked No. 8 in the middleweight division, compared to Imavov who's ranked No. 4, and he's pissed about it.

“Yeah, it’s crazy man, I’m the only one on my winning streak that’s dropping spots in the rankings,” Allen told MMA Fighting. “When people above me have losses or back-to-back losses, I don't even know it, but I know there are losses, so it's just whatever.” It's kind of weird at this point.

“I don’t even know who’s there [rankings] board panel,” Allen added. “But if someone told me they were ranked [panel]I would never have a conversation with them. I would literally tell them to go fuck themselves.”

It's fair that “All-In” feels that way because Imamov – who is ranked above him – is only on a two-fight winning streak. Additionally, Jared Cannonier – even with a two-fight losing streak – is one place above him. And Marvin Vettori — who hasn't fought in 15 months and is coming off a defeat – is two places ahead of him.

What do you think of Allen's rant, Maniacs?
