Eric Adams' girlfriend took part in $45,000 worth of luxury trips because she was accused of failing to show up at a DOE job

Mayor Adams' longtime girlfriend, Tracey Collins, a highly paid “senior adviser” in the city's Department of Education, accompanied Hizzoner on expensive trips worth $45,000 – and has allegedly not shown up for work in nearly a year, according to complaints filed this week .

Collins, 61, a former DOE teacher, principal and administrator who was promoted after Adams took office, is described as “Adams' domestic partner” in the 57-page federal indictment released this week against the mayor.

The Fort Lee, New Jersey, resident participated in Adams' trips to India, Hungary, Turkey, Jordan, Oman and Ghana starting in 2016, among other luxury excursions, according to prosecutors who accuse the mayor of receiving travel perks worth to have accepted up to $123,000.

A few months after Adams took office and appointed David Banks as schools chancellor, Banks promoted Collins to senior adviser to the vice chancellor for school leadership, then Desmond Blackburn, who later resigned. Collins received a 23% raise to $221,597 per year.

On Friday, a former DOE employee filed complaints about Collins and her “no-show job” with DOE Ethics Officer Samantha Biletsky, the Conflicts of Interest Board, the Special Commissioner of Investigation for City Schools and the City Department of Investigation, all were questioned if they reported the luxury benefits as necessary.

The employee also claimed that since November 2023, Collins had rarely shown up at the office and her work calendar had remained empty.

Employees have not seen Collins in person since Thanksgiving, the former employee reported.

“As far as I know, DOE employees are only allowed to work from home two days a week,” the former employee, who previously worked in the same building as Collins, wrote in an email to Biletsky.

Investigators should look into whether Collins allegedly “accepted gifts in excess of $100,000 from a foreign government and failed to declare those gifts when disclosing conflicts of interest,” the complaint said.

Collins' time and attendance records also need to be reviewed to “confirm that she was on vacation while making all of these illegal trips,” the complaint says.

According to the federal indictment against the mayor, Adams and Collins traveled to Budapest via Istanbul in January 2018.

A few months earlier, Collins bought two economy class tickets on Turkish Airlines for about $560 each, but received a free upgrade to business class worth more than $14,000 – the highest – at the request of an Adams' employee The airline's offer, the document says.

The free and discounted trips were omitted from Adams' 2018 Conflict of Interest Board disclosure form, the indictment says.

All City officials and senior staff are required to disclose potential conflicts of interest to the COIB in accordance with the NYC Charter.

In January 2019, Collins purchased an economy ticket to travel with Adams to Turkey, Jordan and Oman.

Her ticket was upgraded to a seat worth at least $7,000, prosecutors said, while an employee separately requested Adams' upgrade because it was purchased by a Turkish entrepreneur who later became an executive in his administration .

An SCI spokesperson told The Post: “We are currently reviewing and evaluating the allegations.”

The city's Conflict of Interest Committee is “prohibited from commenting on an officer's past conduct pending a final determination of a violation,” said COIB Executive Director Carolyn Lisa Miller.
