Rams fined $100,000 for a wild sideline incident against the 49ers

The Los Angeles Rams were fined $100,000 after a courtside incident in the third week of the NFL season. Derion Kendrick, who is on injured reserve (IR), was fined $5,656 for unsportsmanlike conduct, as was Kamren Kinchens, who was fined $5,653 for hitting the 49ers receiver Brandon Ayuik had pushed.

At the end of Sunday's game, 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk was attacked on the Rams' sideline and some shoving occurred. Kendrick was involved even if he wasn't suited up for the game.

The NFL holds teams responsible for the actions of non-uniformed personnel on the sidelines, and according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the league office is responsible for fining the Rams $100,000 for shoving Kendrick Aiyuk.

That situation came at the end of a frustrating 27-24 loss for San Francisco, when they surrendered a 14-point first-quarter lead to a depleted Los Angeles team at SoFi Stadium.

As the game clock expired in the fourth quarter, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy made a desperation throw on the final play of the game and after a series of sideways hits, the ball ended up in Aiyuk's hands before being thrown to the ground near Rams Stadium. Sideline.

A Ram's player tackled Aiyuk as he was playing with the ball, likely causing a stir between the NFC West rivals. Additional fines were issued to Rams players who had absolutely nothing to do with the sideline altercation.

Two Los Angeles linebackers were also fined for actions in last Sunday's game, Christian Rozeboom must pay $7,778 for unnecessary toughness (face mask) and Byron Young was fined $7,014 for a low hit proven against Purdy. Both teams will look to get into the winner's column this week when the Rams play the Chicago Bears on the road, while the 49ers host the New England Patriots on Sunday.
