2 were rescued from the water in a crash in Jackson County

GAINESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) – Three people were injured and two were rescued from a creek after a car went off the road in Jackson County, according to Jackson County EMS.

A car was traveling on Hudson Creek Highway near the Jackson County-Macon County line when it left the roadway and landed in a nearby creek. JCEMS said they were dispatched to the scene around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

When they got there, two people were still trapped in the vehicle with water up to their necks and chests. First responders began work to get both of them out.

There were four people in the vehicle. Three of them, including those trapped in the vehicle, were injured. They were all taken to the hospital. The fourth passenger, a teenager, was not injured in the accident.

Jackson County EMS, Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the incident.
