Shoplifting incident at Wilmington Macy's escalates into robbery


Wilmington, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred following an attempted shoplifting at Macy's Concord Mall on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the Macy's Concord Mall at 4747 Concord Pike in Wilmington around 5:36 p.m. Tuesday. According to the preliminary investigation, an unknown black woman was caught on surveillance footage attempting to leave the clothing store without paying for it. When a loss prevention employee attempted to retrieve the items, a struggle broke out.

During the confrontation, the suspect kicked the employee, indicated she had a gun and grabbed her waistband before fleeing the store. The suspect is described as a black woman, approximately 5'6″ to 5'7″ tall with long black braids.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is investigating the incident. Detectives are seeking information from anyone who may have details about this case.   • 14-year-old girl reported missing in the Bronx

    BRONX, NY - Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing in the Bronx.

    Channel Martinez was last seen around 1:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, near West 164th Street and Woodycrest Avenue in the 44th Ward. Martinez is described as a Hispanic woman of short stature, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 100 pounds. She has blonde hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion.

    She was last seen wearing a pink tracksuit, a black beret-style hat and black sneakers.

    Authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the NYPD as the search continues.

  • Three teenagers arrested for social media threats against Newark schools

    Newark, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé confirmed the arrest of three 13-year-olds for making violent threats against schools in a social media post intercepted by police on Sunday. The people arrested included two men and one woman.

    Director Fragé praised the quick action of the detectives in identifying and arresting the suspects. “This incident is a reminder of the seriousness of posting threats of violence online,” Fragé said. He emphasized the commitment to seriously address all threats to school safety.

    The teens face multiple charges, including third-degree terroristic threats, fourth-degree cyber harassment, third-degree false public alarm and disorderly conduct (harassment). Authorities are still searching for a fourth juvenile male in connection with the case.
