2 arrested for vandalism at the Philadelphia Phillies owner's son's Los Angeles mansion

LOS ANGELES – Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of vandalizing a Hollywood Hills mansion that has been constantly defaced with graffiti and even taken over by squatters, police confirmed this week.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers patrolling the 7500 block of Mulholland Drive made the arrests Wednesday morning.

Some community members alerted officers that two suspects had just vandalized the property with spray paint before fleeing in a white Mercedes sedan. A short time later they found the car and took her into custody.

35-year-old Jacob Smith and 19-year-old Thomia Fagan were identified.

Several spray cans and a loaded, unregistered firearm were found in one of her bags, police said.

Neighbors have described the mansion along Multiview and Mulholland drives as a headache and safety hazard. The house is covered in graffiti from taggers, and squatters have been coming and going on the property for more than two years.

An abandoned mansion covered in graffiti, trash and broken glass is not what you imagine when you think of prime real estate in the Hollywood Hills.

According to public records, the property owner is John Powers Middleton – the same person who owns another mansion in Hollywood Hills that was also taken over by squatters.

Middleton's father is the owner of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Both vacant homes were repainted this week and there are now fences and security to keep people out.
