OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – One was killed in an officer-involved shooting in North Omaha, police said Saturday.

According to police, the incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m. near 31st Street and Taylor Street, with shots reportedly being fired.

According to police, a driver was stopped during a traffic stop. The driver fled and after a chase, the driver was shot following an altercation.

The driver was taken to Nebraska Medicine with CPR, but police say the driver died. None of the officers involved were injured.

According to police, a firearm was recovered at the scene.

According to police, police are searching for the passenger of the vehicle who exited the vehicle after the pursuit.

OPD is working on video surveillance to determine exactly what happened.
