Tata Electronics responds to the fire incident at an iPhone component factory, read the company's statement

Tata Electronics iPhone A fire broke out at a components factory in Tamil Nadu. A report by news agency PTI quoted local authorities as confirming that the fire broke out in a chemical fire at the electronic components factory near Hosur in Tamil Nadu early this morning Krishnagiri district. There were no injuries and none of the workers were injured as a result of the incident. However, around 11 workers who were near the accident site suffered from suffocation and were admitted to the Government General Hospital, the report said, citing local sources. Tata Electronics responded to the incident stating that employees were safe and officers were attempting to determine the cause of the incident.
In a statement to PTI, the company noted: “There was an unfortunate fire at our factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Our Emergency protocols at the factory ensured that all of our employees were safe. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and we will take necessary action to protect the interests of our employees and other stakeholders.”
According to police, the factory is used to manufacture various accessories iPhones and employs almost 4,500 people in shift work. Almost 80% of the employees at this Tata plant are women.
According to the report, seven fire engines from Hosur and surrounding districts were pressed into service and managed to stop the flames after hours of fighting.
In a statement to PTI, a senior fire and rescue official from Hosur fire station said, “The incident took place around 6 am at a chemical factory on the campus. Seven fire engines were put into service. There were no victims or anyone injured. All 11 people were treated as outpatients and nine of them were released. The remaining two are undergoing treatment and will be discharged later.”
