Rnd7 Highlights – Freeman heats up the title fight

Video highlights and results from the 7th to 8th round of the 2024 Italian Enduro Championship “Assoluti” in Pistoia, where Brad Freeman wins ahead of Andrea Verona and heats up the title fight.

All eyes are on the three riders battling it out for the 2024 Italiano Assoluti Enduro Championship in rounds seven and eight, the penultimate race weekend of this season. Andrea Verona (GASGAS) leads the table ahead of Steve Holcombe (Honda) and Brad Freeman (Beta) and has everything to offer in Pistoia.

Freeman, who won the prologue on Friday, will be looking to repeat his overall victory as he did in the preliminary round. The special test times leave no doubt: Freeman set himself apart from his competitors during the day and remained uncatchable.

Behind him, Verona and Holcombe battled for second place, swapping positions at every test. Matteo Cavallo (TM) joined the group in Enduro Test 3 to shake things up and push Holcombe out of the top three – but not for long, as the RedMoto rider regained bronze position while Verona gained some breathing room .

In Enduro Test 4, Holcombe makes a mistake and crashes again. Despite all attempts in the last special stage, Cavallo defended his position and secured the bronze medal of the day. Brad Freeman takes overall victory, Verona comes second.

The net result means Verona retains its championship lead, but Freeman is closing in, now just four points behind and aiming to grab the gold medal. Holcombe drops one place to third, but all bets are off on Sunday.
