Border Police Troops Conduct Operation to Prevent Illegal Immigration – Israel News

Border police arrested around 495 people who entered Israel illegally last week, as well as 44 suspects who helped them, police said on Sunday.

The arrests were part of a major operation carried out across the country and in collaboration with various border police units.

In the Jerusalem area, troops arrested around 350 people who attempted to enter Israel illegally, as well as 27 suspects who helped with their transfer, residence and employment.

Troops arrested 145 people and 17 people who helped them in north, south, central Israel and the West Bank border area.

“Mission never ends”

Border Police Commander-in-Chief Itzhak Brik said of the operation: “Last year, on the morning of October 7, on the morning of the Simchat Torah holiday, our fighters acted with determination, professionalism and utmost bravery, personally fighting Hamas terrorists. faced a fight and stopped the terrorist attack.

Police added that since the beginning of the year, border police have arrested over 21,000 people who entered Israel illegally and about 2,500 suspects who helped them.
