Massive drug raid: 6kg heroin and live ammunition seized in police raid in Gurdaspur | Chandigarh News

Amritsar: Punjab PoliceThe Amritsar counter-intelligence unit seized six kilograms of heroin, 67 live cartridges of .30 caliber and two magazines even as the accused fled, DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Sunday.
The police also recovered six mobile phones from the bag thrown by the accused, the DGP said. The police had received a tip-off about the involvement of a person in Jaffarpur village Gurdaspur District in drug and weapons smuggling from across the border
DGP said, “Police teams conducted a raid in Jaffarpur but the accused escaped after throwing his bag.”

Madurai police seized two packets containing 24 kg of ganja which were sent from Andhra Pradesh through a private courier service. The parcels were addressed to recipients in Madurai. Employees noticed similarities to a previously intercepted package and alerted authorities. Two people were arrested and further investigations are ongoing.
