Man charged with murder in connection with 2023 Greensboro killing

Lanceford Ross Williams was killed on March 1, 2023.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro police have made an arrest in connection with the 2023 murder of 37-year-old Lanceford Ross Williams.

Williams died on March 1, 2023, after officers found him with a gunshot wound at the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Carolyn Coleman Way.

Police have charged 29-year-old Travis Jamar Green with first-degree murder in connection with Williams' death.

According to GPD, Green was originally charged on March 1, 2023 with accessory to murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (among other charges). He has been held in the Guilford County Jail ever since.
