2 people injured when gunmen barricaded themselves in North Philly store – NBC10 Philadelphia

Police in Philadelphia are investigating after two people were injured when three gunmen wearing bulletproof vests were seen leaving a North Philly store late Saturday night, police said.

According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred around 11:22 p.m. Saturday after officers saw three armed, masked men wearing bulletproof vests leaving a store in the 2900 block of N. 5th Street.

An armed man ran from the store and police officers followed him on foot as the other two men re-entered the store, officials said.

Police set up a barricade around 11:50 p.m. and a SWAT team was deployed to clear the property around 2 a.m. Sunday.

The store owner, a 47-year-old man, was inside the building after being injured in the incident, officials said.

According to police, he was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was stable.

According to officials, a 37-year-old woman was also injured in this incident. However, in a statement about the incident, officials did not provide any information about the extent of their injuries or how they occurred.

According to police, no arrests were made in this incident.

However, according to police, a vehicle believed to belong to the perpetrators – a Mitsubishi – was towed from the scene and investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Police officers are searching for three men believed to be responsible for this incident.
