An Iranian agent leaked Nasrallah's whereabouts, a French newspaper reveals

French newspaper Le Parisien claimed that an Iranian agent passed information on the whereabouts of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah to Israeli authorities. Hassan Nasrallah was later killed in the Israeli attack on Beirut.

According to the report, the Iranian agent told Israel that Nasrallah planned to go to Hezbollah headquarters in Dahiyeh. The agent, who passed information about Nasrallah's whereabouts to Israeli officials a few hours before the attack, also shared when the Hezbollah leader would reach Dahiyeh. According to Le Parisien, F-35 fighter jets were held in Lebanese airspace until Nasrallah reached the location in question.

The head of Hezbollah in Lebanon was killed after the Israeli Air Force dropped BLU-109 bombs containing JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) missiles in the suburbs of Beirut on Friday (September 28).

“This was the biggest attack we have seen since 2006,” a Lebanese security source told Le Parisien newspaper.

In addition, it was reported that Nasrallah traveled in the same vehicle with Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to Dahiyeh for an emergency meeting after the funeral of Hezbollah commander Muhammad Hussein Srour. According to the news, twelve commanders were present at Nasrallah's meeting. It was announced that Nilforoushan was also killed in the attack.

This is not the first incident in which an Iranian mole passed important security information to Israel's Mossad. The Israeli secret service Mossad had previously tasked an Iranian security agent with planting explosives in three rooms of the guest house where Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was staying.

“You are now sure that Mossad has hired agents from the Ansar al-Mahdi protection unit. Upon further investigation, they discovered more explosive devices in two other rooms,” a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) official told the publication.

“Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world,” IDF wrote on Platform X.
