Two wanted fugitives arrested; allegedly in connection with theft and hit-and-run

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has arrested two wanted fugitives allegedly connected to several crimes in the area.

According to an official Facebook post on Sunday, September 26, BCSO obtained two arrest warrants for Santana Ayala and Albert Ramirez for theft of a trailer and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Undercover units tracked Ayala, who was wearing a GPS monitor, to the south side of the city, where he was arrested without incident. During this arrest, officers received information regarding the whereabouts of Ramirez, who happened to be in the same area.

He was taken into custody after officers located him at a residence near the 200 block of Mohawk.

Investigators went to Ramirez's home and conducted a search. The search uncovered a white Mercedes linked to a hit-and-run accident and a brown safe linked to a previous police chase.

The wanted fugitives were taken to the Bexar County Jail and arraigned on their charges.
