Man arrested on suspicion of starting Ridge Fire in Santa Barbara County

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Santa Barbara County firefighters arrested a man late Saturday on suspicion of arson in connection with the fire near Hollister Ranch.

For example, according to the SBCFD, an adult male is suspected of intentionally lighting the Ridge Fire. However, the investigation into the fire is ongoing.

SBCFD crews responded to the first fire on Hollister Ranch Road around 10:15 p.m. and named the fire the “Ridge Fire.”

According to the SBCFD, the fire reached nearly 17 acres as of Sunday afternoon, with 10% contained.

An evacuation warning is also in effect for Alegria Canyon and Hollister Ranch near the fire, according to the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management.
