Man charged with murder in Weirton | News, sports, jobs

WEIRTON – Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal shooting Saturday morning in downtown Weirton.

Jordan Lee Pager, 32, is currently being held without bail at the Northern Regional Jail on a first-degree murder charge, according to information on the West Virginia Regional Jail Authority website.

Taylor M. Albert, 30, was found dead of a gunshot wound after officers responded to a call at 3025 Elm St. around 4:50 a.m. Saturday, according to information provided by Police Chief Charlie Kush.

Officers were called to the scene to report a medical emergency. Upon arrival, they reported observing Pager leaving the home yelling at ambulance personnel while holding a handgun.

Pager was confronted by law enforcement, who ordered him to drop the weapon. When Pager failed to comply, officers subdued him with a Taser, according to the report.

The investigation revealed that no one else was in the apartment.

Kush said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

The Weirton Police Department was assisted by West Virginia State Police and Hancock County Ambulance.
