Eastern Iowans attend Trump rally in Prairie Du Chien

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (KCRG) – Former President Donald Trump held a rally for his supporters at Prairie Du Chien High School.

Many eastern Iowa residents headed out to see Trump in Wisconsin.

Diann Dennis and Marsha Headington of Shueyville said they decided to attend the rally as soon as they found out about it.

“There was no doubt for us either. We believe it is a once-in-a-lifetime event to be a part of and that is why we are here to support our future President Trump,” Headington said.

Dennis and Headington said they shared the same concerns about immigration as Trump.

“We cannot afford to have all these immigrants, illegal immigrants, coming into the country. It’s a scary, scary time,” Dennis said.

A Prairie Du Chien resident said he has seen the impact of illegal immigration – after police arrested a member of a Venezuelan immigrant gang for allegedly attacking a woman and her daughter.

“He was illegal, he had no papers. So it actually came right home,” Prairie Du Chien resident Randy Cornford said.

An undecided voter was at the rally. He said he would go to every presidential candidate rally to help decide who to vote for.

“I’m not going to vote for just anyone. No “Trump is the greatest” or “Harris is the greatest”. I want to do my own research and make sure I know what I’m getting into,” said undecided voter Trenton Miller.

For most people, however, the rally was an opportunity to show their support for the Republican candidate.

“We just can’t afford to have them [Kamala Harris] in the White House. We have to get Mr. Trump in,” Dennis said.
