Tragic incident in Ballari: Man suffers stroke after 'free head massage' at salon

A 30 year old man In Ballari, Karnataka found itself in a life-threatening situation resulting in a stroke after a free head massage at a local salon. The victim, a domestic worker, felt severe pain during the aggressive neck manipulation but initially brushed it off. However, his condition worsened hours later, resulting in speech difficulties and weakness on his left side.

During a visit to the hospital, doctors diagnosed him with a stroke caused by a tear in his carotid artery caused by the severe rotation of his neck. He was treated with anticoagulants to alleviate further complications and was almost dead two months in the intensive care unit before finally returning home. This type of stroke, called a dissection-related stroke, involves damage to the wall of a blood vessel, resulting in reduced blood flow to the brain.

Experts warn that sudden and violent neck movements can lead to serious health problems, including strokes and even death.
