The Nintendo Switch 2's leaked design stuns fans

That's quite a change

So far we've seen the first officially announced game for the Nintendo Switch 2 as well as a first look at the new design.

However, a recent leak has left fans confused about a possible design choice.

According to an interview between Spanish gaming magazine Vandal and Rubén Mercado, CEO of video game accessories and peripherals maker Blade, the Nintendo Switch 2 could change the way analog sticks are implemented.

Mercado reveals that the analog sticks may not appear as in the leaked designs as protection devices for them “cannot be manufactured on this occasion.”

This vague statement continues with the news that the sticks could also be “flat” this time, as this would prevent dust from entering the console.

The new and improved analog sticks would be part of the infamous Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, which, according to Mercado, will be magnetic and “at the same time have a locking system so that they remain firmly attached to the consoles.”

Additionally, the insider also claims that the Nintendo Switch 2 is “finished” and is aiming for a global release with enough supply to meet demand.

In addition, it is speculated that the launch date will be around March/April 2025.

Since this interview was translated from Spanish, it should be noted that some details were lost in translation.

However, it will be interesting to see if the common Joy-Cons drifting issue has been addressed for the next iteration of the console.
