Ananya Panday on deepfake videos: Government regulations are the only solution

Actress Ananya Panday will soon be seen in a film in which artificial intelligence (AI) will play a central role. Ananya spoke about the misuse of AI and said that only government regulations can bring the much-needed change when it comes to deepfake videos.

Talking to PTI, Ananya said, “It is very scary. As public figures, our faces and voices are out there. (So) I don't know how much we can protect. I think it has to be done through government regulations.” That’s probably the only solution.”

Ananya is not the only one, other top stars like Aamir Khan and Rashmika Mandanna have also fallen victim to deepfakes and have spoken openly about it.

Deepfakes blur the line between reality and illusion, creating lifelike videos that can mislead and manipulate. As technology advances, the challenge of distinguishing truth from deception becomes increasingly complex.

Meanwhile, Ananya's film CTRL will stream on Netflix from October 4. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.
