Waffle House employee claims she was fired for filming viral TikTok

A Waffle House employee has slammed the popular restaurant chain, claiming she was fired after filming a viral TikTok video at an Atlanta branch.

Yadira Ramirez's account exploded after she filmed herself and her colleagues performing Latto's song “Brokey” during their shift – a trend that caught on after the rapper gave 10,000 to the fan who posted the best video promised US dollars.

The clip, which shows the colleagues lip-synching the rap while washing dishes, eating waffles and handing out money on September 19, has racked up 28.2 million views to date.

But it also had unintended consequences — as Ramirez revealed in a video released the next day that she had been fired after six years of service.

“I just got fired because of the Big Lattos Challenge video,” Ramirez revealed.

“Yeah, I'm glad I put six years into a company that fired me and literally…posted a video for a day, A VIDEO that doesn't hurt anyone, that literally stands up for “Everyone was excited about the word and was happy about it, but whatever.” .

“Smart decision, smart move, you know? And then they put me on a so-called ERA list or something, basically I can never be hired again.'

Ramirez's Latto dance video begins with her colleague, wearing a red Waffle House hat, squirting into the camera with a hose.

It then cuts from the restaurant to the drive-thru window, where another colleague lip-syncs showing off a wad of cash collected from customers.

The next video shows a line of Waffle House employees dancing before panning to a receipt marked “BROKEY” with two employees eating waffles.

According to Ramirez's TikTok, she worked at one of the Waffle Houses in Atlanta, Georgia.

In subsequent TikTok updates, she said she was fired by a manager who was present at the time the video was recorded but not involved.

But days later, the tide turned again for Ramirez when her videos apparently caught the attention of Latto herself, who met with the fired employee.

Ramirez posted a video on her TikTok of herself dancing with Latto – with Ramirez in a red dress, throwing dollar bills while Latto twerks next to her.
