Two men are accused of beating Elray employees in Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Two men are facing charges after they are accused of beating two employees at Elray's Live & Dive in Iowa City.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. on Sunday.

Dwayne Scott, 30, of Iowa City, and Christopher Williams, 36, of Chicago, are charged with engaging in a riot and assault or mental illness.

According to criminal complaints, Scott, Williams and two other men are seen on camera kicking, stomping and punching two Elray's employees.

Scott is accused of holding a victim by his sweatshirt while repeatedly striking him in the head. He is also accused of running towards a victim who was already on the ground and kicking him multiple times in the ribs and punching him in the face.

According to criminal complaints, Williams is also seen on camera punching a victim in the head multiple times while holding the victim's sweatshirt. He is then accused of kicking them in the head while they were on the ground and then running away.
