The heavyweight champ who defeated Lennox Lewis wants Mike Tyson to fight after he is “done” with Jake Paul

A former two-time heavyweight champion has challenged Mike Tyson to a fight.

Tyson will return to the ring for his first professional fight in over twenty years when he takes on YouTuber and former boxer Jake Paul in November.

The contest was originally scheduled for July, but the 58-year-old's stomach ulcer caused him to postpone the fight.

“I would like to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my stomach ulcer, my doctor advised me to ease up on my workouts for a few weeks to rest and recover.

Overall, my body is in better shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will soon be able to return to my full training program. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but you'll still end up unconscious and out of boxing forever. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

One man who regrets never facing “Iron” Mike when both were in their prime is Hasim Rahman.

Rahman is best known for pulling off one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history when he knocked out Lennox Lewis in the fifth round in 2001. Lewis would seek revenge in an immediate rematch, regaining his WBC, IBF and IBO titles.

Speaking to FightHype, Rahman has little doubt that Tyson will finish Jake Paul, and if so, he wants to finally have his chance at the fight he believes has always eluded him.

“Without a doubt, only one name comes to mind and that is Mike Tyson. This is just one of the few battles that I wasn't allowed to fight in my time. I was supposed to fight Mike Tyson but it didn't work out that way, but I'm still hoping for the fight, yeah, I'm still hoping for the fight, Mike!

So when you're done with Jake, when he's done with “Fake Paul,” I'm available. I think it would still be a great fight, I’m in great shape so let’s see how Mike does with Jake and I’m available.”

Paul vs. Tyson takes place on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Texas and will be broadcast live on Netflix.
