Denver man charged with murder in fatal shooting of roommate

A Denver man is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his roommate, according to court records.

Tyler Nelson, 30, was arrested last week and charged with first-degree murder after deliberation Monday morning, court records show. He is being held at the Downtown Denver Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Denver police said Nelson called 911 around 1:02 a.m. last Tuesday to report a shooting at his apartment in the 600 block of South Dayton Street.

When officers arrived in the Windsor neighborhood, they found a woman who lived with Nelson suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. The woman – whose identity has not been publicly released by police – died from her injuries before paramedics could take her to hospital.
