Thousands reported service problems on Monday

Verizon is investigating a service issue that resulted in more than 100,000 outage reports as of Monday morning.

According to Downdetector, a website that tracks technical outages, more than 100,000 customers reported being without service around 11 a.m. ET.

Verizon said the company was “aware of an issue impacting service for some customers.”

“Our engineers are committed and we are working quickly to resolve the issue,” spokesman Ilya Hemlin told USA TODAY on Monday.

Some users took to social media to question the apparent service outage.
