THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER shares music video for “Panic Hysteric” from album “Servitude”.

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER has released the official music video for the song “Panic hysterical”. The fiery new song comes from the band's tenth studio album. “Bondage”which was released on September 27th Metal Blade Records.

“Panic hysterical” is a modern classic THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Waltz in time-honored Swedish style. “Lyrically, it's a tribute to the fear and outrage that rock 'n' roll inspired in mid-century America,” explains the singer Brian Eschbach. “I read quotes from Frank Sinatrawho really didn't like rock 'n' roll and was pretty eloquent about it. I quoted him a few times in the song. It was a fun Sunday writing these lyrics. I’m not going to lie – vodka and Shirley Temples were involved.”

With the tragic death of the band's frontman and co-founder Trevor Strnad in 2022, EschbachBassist Max Lavelledrummer Alan Cassidy and producer/guitarist Brandon Ellis were faced with a decision: close the door on one of the most popular death metal bands of the last twenty years or carry on in the charismatic spirit of their fallen brother?

“Everyone who is in the band now is one Trevor and I looked for,” Eschbach says. “We have spent so much time together on the road that everyone understands the mission statement. We don't really need to talk about it. We just have to make great music and try to make people happy to play it.”

After a period of deep sadness and deep soul-searching, Eschbach switched from guitar to vocals, abandoning his lifelong identity as a live guitarist for the band's survival. Former THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Member Ryan Knight returned to the herd to take it Eschbachthere is space on the guitar. The new lineup made their debut in the band's hometown of Detroit in late October 2022 for a tribute show for Strnad.

Fast forward to now: THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDERThe new album is what many would have thought impossible. “Bondage” Markings Eschbach's recorded debut as THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDERis lead singer and lyricist – and her first appearance with Knight On the guitar since 2015 “Miserable”.

“I just had to lean into it.” Eschbach says of the approach 'Bondage' in a completely new role. “Honestly, it was easier for me to write the lyrics for this album than to write the music for the three songs I wrote music for. I picked a topic, researched it, and just dove in. “I had really never done this before, it came naturally when I started.”

You can hear the exciting results here “Aftermath” the rousing lead single, which introduces a post-apocalyptic cannibal scenario. “We wanted this song to be heard first because it is one of the faster songs on the album, if not the fastest.” Eschbach says. “We wanted to do it very aggressively BLACK DAHLIA Melodic death metal feeling comes straight to you. Lyrically it's about a meteor that destroys the entire planet, but people are still alive. Kind of like that 'The Walking Dead'but without zombies – so you immediately understand how people deal with it. And in the end they eat each other.

The members of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER I know some will be skeptical about an album without it Trevors inimitable presence. But many fans have already welcomed the band's decision to move on.

“I feel not just the pressure or expectations of the fan base, but their trust and support.” Ellis says. “We have always done what we do for them and they have appreciated our consistency over the years. The global outcry following Trevor's death showed us how important the band's music was to so many people and how important this is. “We carry on in his honor, I think we all knew what needed to be done.

“We put everything we had into it and it felt right to make this album,” he adds. “I’m proud of it and proud of the five of us. You can never please everyone, but I know this music will be a healing and positive force for those who embrace it!”
