ALSO THIS EVENING, OFFICIALS SAY THE DRIVER, 18-YEAR-OLD AL ABELARDO MENDEZ, WAS SPEEDING AND IT WAS ALL CAPTURED ON SURVEILLANCE VIDEO. According to police, a driver crashed into a parked dump truck, killing a passenger in the car. Police have not released the identity of the person who died in the accident. According to court documents, 18-year-old Abelardo Mendez was charged with aggravated vehicular manslaughter in connection with the crash. Police said Mendez was speeding and the accident was monitored on video. They also said Mendez did not have a valid driver's license at the time of his accident. Mendez is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $100,000 bond.
