Marana police officer on leave after incident in popular bar parking lot

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A Marana police officer has been placed on leave following an incident in the parking lot of a popular bar.

Marana police said Daniel Bonn was off-duty when something happened near Whiskey Road at Ina Road on Sunday, Sept. 29.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and is investigating. MPD said reports of a second off-duty officer on scene were unfounded.

The internal investigation is being conducted by the Marana Police Department's Office of Professional Standards Unit.

“The Marana Police Department takes all allegations against its officers very seriously,” the MPD said in a news release. “We remain committed to transparency and accountability throughout this process. While the investigation is ongoing, we ask the community for patience and understanding. No further details will be released pending the completion of the criminal investigation and internal review.”
