Man arrested and charged with rape in incident near Fern Ridge Trail/Amazon Creek

EUGENE, Ore. – The Eugene Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit reports they contacted Timothy Joel Colnar, 42, regarding a reported rape that occurred on the morning of August 8, 2024 near Fern Ridge Trail/Amazon Creek.

Colnar was contacted on September 29 at the Lane County Jail where he was booked into custody on an unrelated warrant.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on August 8, Eugene PD responded to a report of a rape at Fern Ridge Trail/Amazon Creek.

The female victim described the suspect as white, approximately 40 years old, with brown hair, and was last seen wearing a black and white sleeveless shirt with writing on the back, green shoes and a tattoo on one of his arms.

At the time of the report, the suspect was pushing a bicycle and later fled.

Colnar is charged with first-degree rape, sexual penetration, third-degree sexual abuse and fourth-degree assault.
