Britney Spears opens up about a “scary” fire incident earlier this year

Britney Spears recalls a terrifying incident that almost sent her to the emergency room.

The pop princess shared a video on Instagram on Monday (September 30) that recalls a story that happened about six months ago. “I was in my room turning on the fire and suddenly it exploded in my face,” she explained in a British accent. “It has done this before, and when it has done this before, I stopped so my security guards would always come in and light it for me because I was afraid it would explode.”

She continued: “But this time I just threw the whole thing in and it blew into my face and took off all my eyelashes and eyebrows. And do you see that baby hair? Those baby bangs? This is from six months ago. It ruined all my hair. The person I was with didn’t wake up and I thought I had to go to the emergency room because my face was burning.”

Spears noted that the injury caused her pain and she considered going to the emergency room because “it hurt to touch my phone, it hurt to put ice on my face” for six to seven hours . She ended up taking three Tylenol tablets, which she said was “a really, really big deal for me,” and went to sleep.

“Everything is fine now,” she assured. “It’s happening.”

Despite the scary moment, Spears is thankfully safe and has recently been working on a “special project.” “The project I may be doing is not a biographical story…it's a fictional musical in which I play an extremely intelligent character!!!,” Spears wrote on Instagram alongside an illustration of a girl hovering over a pair of cats. “It’s flattering to be in such good company as Jon Chu!!!”

Evil Director Jon M. Chu and Marc Platt are reportedly leading the development of the film diversity.
