Yale Public Safety urges caution after student robbery

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – Yale University public safety officials are urging students to remain vigilant after a robbery investigation over the weekend.

Police Chief Antony Campbell announced that a robbery occurred at 1000 Chapel Street on Saturday at 11:16 p.m.

A graduate student was walking in the area when two masked people forcibly restrained him and stole his wallet.

No weapons were displayed during the incident and the suspects fled towards High Street.

The student was uninjured and refused medical attention.

The New Haven Police Department is actively investigating the incident.

Chief Campbell recommends that students utilize the Blue Phones located throughout the Yale campus and report any unusual or suspicious behavior to the Yale Police Department.
