Drug investigation in McCracken Co. leads to arrest of three people

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – Three people were arrested in western Kentucky last week, all in connection with a drug investigation.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began when investigators received information that 47-year-old Zeth Kovein of Mayfield was selling crystal methamphetamine.

During the undercover investigation, investigators said they used a cooperating source to contact Kovein on September 25. Kovein agreed to sell an ounce of meth and said he would have it dropped off at a home at 3409 Hovekamp Road.

The cooperating source contacted 60-year-old Billy Cutrer, who lived at the home, and purchased an ounce of meth from him.

According to the sheriff's office, investigators learned that a woman, 44-year-old Kendal Terry of Smithland, would arrive later to pick up the money and take it to Kovein.

Through surveillance, investigators saw Terry leaving the area of ​​the home and stopped her vehicle. During the traffic stop, investigators found the money used to purchase the meth and arrested Terry.

She was charged with trafficking meth (second or subsequent offense).

That same day, investigators found and arrested Cutrer at his home on Hovekamp Road. During a search of the apartment, investigators seized additional meth as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Cutrer was subsequently charged with trafficking meth, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The next day, September 26, Graves County Sheriff's Office detectives assisted in the investigation and arrested Kovein at his home in Mayfield on an outstanding warrant from the McCracken Co. for conspiracy to traffic meth. Kovein was found to be in possession of additional meth and drug paraphernalia.

Kovein was charged with conspiracy to traffic meth, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three suspects were arrested and taken to the custody of the McCracken Co. Regional Jail.
