Identity of woman killed in rollover crash in Layton released

The woman who was killed after she and her child were thrown from their vehicle has been identified.

Emma Gordhamer, 25, of Holladay, was killed on impact.

Her three-year-old child was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday morning, the Utah Highway Patrol received information about a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-15 from Salt Lake County to Davis County.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver was unable to yield and drove over a ramp-mounted milepost 322 onto Antelope Drive in Layton.

The pursuit was then broken off.

According to authorities, an accident occurred in which the vehicle rolled over and ejected both occupants.

The driver, identified as Gordhamer, died on impact.

Officers provided life-saving aid to the other occupant, her three-year-old son, while they waited for medical personnel to arrive.

The child was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
