Exclusive Deadpool and Wolverine Logan Variant Clip Explores Henry Cavill Cameo and More

Marvel's two biggest sons of bitches are coming home after destroying the box office all summer long.

Deadpool and Wolverinenow the most successful R-rated film of all time, is scheduled to be released on digital retailers (Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango) on October 1st before appearing on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 22nd, Weekly entertainment I can only confirm this. And of course, the film offers tons of bonus features, including a gag reel, deleted scenes and making-of videos.

EW can enjoy an exclusive preview of one such feature (above) with a behind-the-scenes look at all of these Wolverine variants, including Henry Cavill's Cavillrine and Hugh Jackman's different looks, as well as the many alternate reality versions of the adamantium-clawed Logan .

Film editors Shane Reid and Dean Zimmerman begin the clip by expanding on their conversations to bring in multiple versions of the tan-suited Wolverine, some of which are inspired by comic book artist and writer John Byrne; the cover of The Uncanny X-Men #251 it was about the crucifixion of Logan; Old Logan with Jackman relaxing in a rocking chair on the porch; and the Cavillrine, as Cavill's version of Wolverine is called in the film.

“It’s a recipe for humor,” adds director Shawn Levy. “It's certainly a recipe for conflict, which is also funny. In the case of our film, it’s a recipe for violence.”

Deadpool and Wolverine reunited Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson and Jackman as Logan for the first time since 2009 X-Men Origins: Wolverinea film that both stars love to mock on and off screen. The long-hyped event film was released after the plot for 2018 Deadpool 2, as Reynolds' “Merc with a Mouth” is ripped from his current reality and taken to the headquarters of the multiverse watchdog, the Time Variance Authority. Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) informs him that Wade's world will end after the death of their “anchor being,” who happens to be the Wolverine we know from the past X-Men films. So Deadpool sets out to find another Wolverine from another parallel universe to repair his own, setting himself and this other variant on an odyssey across the Marvel Multiverse, featuring a number of surprising cameos along the way.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray of the film comes with two limited edition SteelBooks: one with Deadpool on the cover and Wolverine variant artwork on the inside, the other with Wolverine on the cover and Deadpool variant artwork on the inside Inside. Walmart will also be releasing an exclusive Blu-ray that includes an inside pop-up of the Deadpool Corps. Fight sequence from the film.

The cast and crew reminisce about anecdotes and reiterate the overwhelmingly positive impact of filming on the set he helped design, full of intricate details and Easter eggs.

Loose Ends: The Legacy Heroes – Reynolds, Levy and the cast and crew witness some of the most breathtaking cameos and characters finally getting their deserved ending. They cover the intense choreographed sequences, updated costumes and the assembly of the legendary team.

wolverine – Hugh Jackman describes returning to his iconic role as Wolverine. The cast and crew discuss reprising his yellow suit, bringing variety to the role and continuing his legacy from previous films.

Deleted scenes:

• Elevator ride -Paradox explains the sacred timeline to Deadpool as they walk through the TVA.
• Do nothing -Hunter B-15 tells Paradox to stay out of trouble and rebuffs his efforts to take action.
• Dad is in love – Hunter B-15 and Peter begin a romance. Peter announces that he is in love with his friends Headpool and Kidpool.

• Deadpool – Dr. Deadpool, Ph.D., kindly informs us about the risks of testicular cancer and tries to convince Jackman to do a live examination.
• Product review – Deadpool showcases some toys and trinkets from the franchise, including a top secret item that may or may not be a spoiler.
• Wade is back – Reynolds and Jackman are promoting a movie… but Ryan deceives Hugh about exactly what movie they're there for.
